Position: Offshore Medical Practitioner

Classification: Full-time and/or Part-time, non-exempt

Reports to: GM of Emergency Response/Industrial Response Specialist

Location: Remote

Pay: $28-30 per hour / Dependant upon Contract


About you and the role:

The Offshore Medical Practitioner responds to Emergency situations; staying within the requirements and restrictions of level of training at all times. They are responsible for administering the best treatment and follow-up plan possible for all Emergency and Non-Emergency Medical situations as they arise. This position will also assist in identifying hazards, assessing the risks, and planning practical and effective solutions towards safe working practices in compliance with client’s standards.

Work Schedule:

Rotating standard 12-hour shift, which is subject to change.

What you will do:

Regular Job Duties

● Provide medical treatment for all illnesses / injuries that occur on the assigned location.

● Attend all required on board meetings

● Maintain all required certifications and training.

● Participate in all location HSE efforts and programs.

● Utilize Stop Work Authority as needed for any task or operation on location.

● Communicate with the Industrial Response Specialist at minimum with 1 daily email concerning daily activities on location.

● May be requested to provide guidance or assistance on hygiene matters on location.

● Required to report to crew change locations ready to work.

● Be the medical subject matter expert on location and provide training and guidance to offshore crew members concerning injury care and illness prevention.

● Perform additional duties such as HSE Advisor, HLO, Clerk, or Dispatch as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

● US Citizen (or authorized to work in the United States)

● At least 2+ years of experience working in the offshore or maritime industry

● At least 5+ years of experience as a Paramedic

● State license

● National Registry

● BLS, ACLS, and a trauma certification (PHTLS, ITLS, etc.)

● Previous experience working with OSHA standards

Preferred Qualifications:

● Global Wind Organization (GWO) certification (possess or have the ability to obtain)

● Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) certification

Physical Requirements:

● Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

● Adverse weather conditions

● The Offshore Medical Practitioner is expected to conduct themselves professionally and represent Best Practice Medicine positively at all times including during travel.
